United We Roll World Tour ... Our first visit is with Army Maj Andrew Brown, who is the “XO” or Executive Officer to the Battalion Commander for the 607th Military Police Battalion of the 8th MP Brigade. Maj Brown shares some of his experiences with us from his 10 months served on this 12 month deployment – including some of the issues around the mid-deployment 2 week “RnR” at home, but leaving no doubt as to how that time with family is so important. Then, we are pleasantly surprised when LTC Efrain Delacruz, Battalion Commander, is also able to join us from somewhere out in the field. LTC Delacruz was scheduled to be with us, but when duty called, he was concerned he would not be able to make the connection. We are doubly blessed in this visit as we speak with two very dedicated and patriotic Americans. Coming up next is our visit with four Air Force members who are currently deployed at Manas Air Base where they not only hold down regular jobs with very long hours, but they have also volunteered to be part of the Honor Guard which requires weekly briefings and practice three times per week. Joining us are TSgt Jacky Baldwin, A1C Vanessa Jordan, SrA David Ivester Jr and SSgt Armando Nieto Jr. As a follow-up to this visit, we will place an article about the Honor Guard from the Manas site in our UWR Blog. Our third and final visit for today will include a very interesting look inside the hospital at JBB (Joint Base Balad) with Maj David Carnahan, who is deployed there as the Chief of Medical Staff. With an amazing 98% survival rate, you know right off that the staff at this facility knows their stuff and they take excellent care of their patients. As with any stateside hospital, it takes all the departments to keep it going and we will hear more on this, too.

United We Roll World Tour .... Our first visit will be with two members – no, let’s correct that to the only two members – of the Judge Advocate General’s Office (JAG) on deployment with the 376th Air Expeditionary Wing. Major Debra Luker and TSgt Nadia Edwards take care of business for the base, for the base members and for the transient members who are on their way into or out of Afghanistan. As you can imagine, holding office hours from 7am to 7pm does not allow enough time to get everything done, so the work often goes late into the night and sometimes the early morning hours. This is a very interesting visit as we hear about the liaison with a local community law firm and much more. On top of their legal careers within the Air Force, both of these very busy gals are also married to active duty members. Coming up next is our visit with Army Capt Derek Wischmann, who is currently on deployment with the Ironhorse Brigade, 1st Brigade Combat Team of the 1st Cavalry Division. Currently serving on his third deployment, Capt Wischmann shares not only information on his current duties, but he also takes the time to speak of so many experiences that he and his fellow soldiers have also had – including the incredible story of Sadir City, Route Gold and the Golden Wall. Capt Wischmann is following his family’s legacy of serving our country – you will not want to miss a single second of this truly inspirational visit. Our visit with Army LTC Efrain Delacruz, Battalion Commander and Maj Andrew Brown, who is the “XO” or Executive Officer to the Battalion Commander for the 607th Military Police Battalion of the 8th MP Brigade will be starting our show off on Tuesday, September 9th, so be sure to join us then.

United We Roll World Tour Show .... Our first guest for today is 6 months into his deployment with the 732nd Provost Marshall Office, Detachment 5. Air Force TSgt Lawrence Saiz has made time in his schedule to join us and talk about his current duties as a supervisor in this military police detachment, working to protect military members and civilians in his area. Coming up next is our visit with LTC Michael Ude, who is currently deployed with the 225th Engineer Brigade in Iraq where he heads a team of Army Engineers who assess projects that are needed with Iraqi government and civic leaders, then develop the projects with Iraqi contractors and then conduct quality control checks of those projects that are worked on by Iraqi civilians Our third visit will include five members of the 376th Security Forces Squadron who are currently deployed to Manas Air Base in Kyrzgstan. SrA Jonathan Burns, TSgt Patrick Poe, SSgt Mike Alvarez, SrA Larry Thompson and Sgt Marcus Rodriguez are all involved in the security of those with whom they serve as they perform duties at eh base gates, escorting people on and off the base, monitoring the flightline and more. Our final visit for today with five members of the JBB (Joint Base Balad) First Four Organization, which is a program that is run by volunteers from the deployed members stationed at the base. Coming from several different areas of job responsibility are SrA Jamael Skeete, SrA Danielle Toland, A1C Evan Albeck, SrA Steven Denny and SrA Constance Hames, who were all involved in the last effort of the First Four which was a 5K run to raise money for the Fisher House Foundation. As many of you are aware the Fisher Houses are located at several of the hospitals where our wounded military members are going through care and treatment.

United We Roll World Tour Show ... Now, joining us during our first visit today will be Army LTC Drake P Jackson, who is currently deployed with the 6th Federal Police Brigade Transition Team near Baghdad, Iraq. LTC Jackson, who has many great experiences to discuss from his 17 plus years of service, provides us with a great visit filled with information from the Draw Down and more, along with humor and insight. Our next visit is with two members from the 376th Air Expeditionary Wing. SSgt Maria Hudgeons is one of two translators for the wing, where her Russian background and language helps the wing members to communicate with local and transient guests. Capt Jarred Prier is a B-2 pilot who is taking a ground job while on deployment and serving as the Wing Executive Officer Next up is our visit with LTC Thomas Jordan who is a clinical lab officer and is on deployment with the 332nd AEW/EMDSS. LTC Jordan and his team are a very highly trained group of people who have been instrumental in the harvesting of blood platelets within reach of the combat area so that they can be used in the field to save lives in lieu of whole blood. Our final visit is with Air Force SMSgt Rex Temple who is currently deployed as a Senior Enlisted Advisor with an ETT – that is an Embedded Training Team – in Afghanistan. It took us a few tries to be able to meet on the phone, but it was worth every effort. This is an incredible visit with an incredible 26 year veteran who is on duty in a tough area. SMSgt Temple brings us a wealth of information during this visit, but has even more to offer in his blog which is a true treasure of photographs and writings.

Welcome Stardust Listeners and thank you for joining us here on United We Roll this Tuesday. August 11, 2009. We have four more great visits to share with you all today… though this week we will be able to stay within our usual two hour show period. Remember, if you are not able to stay with us through the show this afternoon, it will repeat again tomorrow evening, Wednesday, Aug 12 at 6:30pm Central. In addition, an MP3 copy will be on our show archive site for listening and downloading within about 48 hours after this broadcast. You can reach our archive site at www.stardustradio.info or by entering our full website at www.stardustent.com In the words of one of our guests today, “Servicemembers are the bravest, smartest, most diverse, selfless and hottest folks in the world”. And we could not agree more! If, after hearing these great visits, you think you know which guest made this comment, place your guess in our Guest Book at stardustradio.com and you could win a music CD for your collection. Joining us during our first visit today will be Army SSG Scott Daigrepont, who is currently on a 15 month deployment with the HSC 46th ECB – Engineer Combat Battalion. SSG Daigrepont’s day begins at 4:30am and usually does not end before 8:30pm. His job, as are so many in the Army Engineer Battalions, is multi faceted and keeps him on the go, helping those with whom he serves and the local citizens. Our next visit is with Air Force TSgt Paul Sylvester, who is a medic and is currently on deployment in Afghanistan where he is serving with a Task Force Medical/Outpatient Clinic. TSgt Sylvester shares some great information with us today, including some aspects of his job from sick call and caring for our troops to working with the local Afghani people and much more. Our third visit will include four Airmen who are deployed with the 732nd Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron and are known as JET Airmen – Joint Expeditionary Tasking. Joining us are TSgt Cal Cavinder, TSgt Chuckie Taylor, TSgt Martin Jones and TSgt John Trembly. This team of Carpenters, a Plumber and a Heavy Equipment Operator will share their experiences in the preparation of SWA Huts for use in the Draw Down and more. What is a SWA Hut? Tune in and find out that and more as we learn so much from these dedicated Americans. Our final visit for today is with Army Sgt Michael Lopez who is currently deployed with the HSC Engineer Combat Battalion (Heavy). This young soldier and father brings us a very heartwarming and inspirational visit as he shares information not only about his job, but also about why he serves and why he joined the Army. Sgt Lopez is a mechanic who services the vehicles that break down in the streets while on patrol or convoy. Like so very many of our Heroes of Freedom, his personal story could and should be told wherever possible.

Welcome Stardust Listeners and thank you for joining us here on United We Roll this the first Tuesday of August, 2009. I am sure we have all heard the news about Capt Scott Speicher, whose plane was shot down on Jan 17, 1991 during the Gulf War. Our hearts and prayers have been and still are with his family. Today is a big anniversary for the United States Coast Guard - It was established on August 4th of 1790. Happy Birthday to the men and women who serve to guard our shores, who save numerous lives along the waterways and so much more every single day. Thank You to all of you and to your families. We have four more great visits to share with you all today…In the words of one of our guests, “As much as I hate to leave my family, I can help to ensure the fight stays out of my backyard”. Is it no wonder we call our military members our Heroes of Freedom? Because we do not edit these visits and we certainly would not think of cutting anything out to make them fit our show schedule, our show will run over by approximately 45 minutes – ending at 4:45pm today. We hope you all can stay with us - you will not want to miss any of these great visits. We will have a repeat of our show tomorrow evening at 6:30pm Central and an MP3 copy will be on our show archive site for listening and downloading within about 48 hours after this broadcast. Joining us during our first visit today will be two members who are deployed with the 380th AEW/CES (Air Expeditionary Wing/Civil Engineer Squadron). Not only do SSgt Lawrence McGuire and TSgt Daniel Coopman stand guard over our freedom, they are also first responders protecting those with whom they serve, as they are firefighters with medical training who conduct inspections, respond to emergencies and more. Our next visit is with SPC Nicholas Randall who is deployed with Charlie Company, Division Special Troops Battalion, 1st Cavalry. Working 12 hour days and currently on duty every day, no days off, SPC Randall remains enthusiastic about his mission and his service to our country. Another great example of so many of the young men and women who volunteer to protect our country and our freedom. Our next two visits will involve members who are deployed with the 46th Engineer Combat Battalion (Heavy), but each has a very different job from the other. First, we will speak with PFC David Branch who is a heavy equipment operator and trainer. Then we will visit with SGT David Staples, who is a Medic and is on the job taking care of our troops from sick call to receiving injured. Both visits are very interesting and again make us aware of the many missions that Engineer Battalions and their incredible members cover. Our fourth and final visit for today is with members of the 376th EAMXS – that is the Expeditionary Air Maintenance Backshop. Joining us are SSgt William Ishler, SSgt Otis Land and A1C Joel Williamson who will explain a lot about the welding craftsmanship when making metal repairs on aircraft, the conditions under which repairs are made and much more. This is a truly informative and inspirational visit with three wonderful Americans. You will not want to miss a minute!

Welcome Stardust Listeners and thank you for joining us here on United We Roll this Tuesday, July 28th of 2009. Today is a big anniversary – World War I began on this date in 1914 – 95 years ago. Yesterday, Monday July 27th was the anniversary of the end of the Korean War in 1953. We have four great visits to get to today…and the timing will be very tight – we will probably go over our two hours by just a couple of minutes. But you will not want to miss any of our visits. Joining us during our first visit today will be Army 1LT Richard Shawger, who is in his 8th month of deployment with the Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, Multi-National Division-Baghdad. 1LT Shawger is in the Combat Security Escort where his unit provides escort to other troops with whom they serve, most recently escorting missions with the road clearance teams. Our next visit is with three members from the 376th ELRS (Expeditionary Logistics Readiness Squadron) – POL Unit. Joining us are SSgt Mike Van Damm, SMSgt Jeff Hancock and TSgt Darrel Stockton who will tell us about this unit that controls and provides fuels of all types to the base from aircraft to air conditioners. This is a very interesting visit and with a saying like “Without fuel pilots would be pedestrians”, you can be sure we will have some good chuckles, too. The first part of our next visit will be with three young men who are deployed with the 532nd ESFS (Expeditionary Security Forces Squadron). This security team had a tough situation just a couple of weeks ago, but – thanks to their training and instincts – this has had a much better than expected ending. While A1C Tony Gross, A1C John Henry and A1C Donovan Blount were on duty, a little girl was terribly injured by an IED blast and they were the ones who were there to apply her first medical aid, and arrange to get her to the hospital. Also, a Major who witnessed this incredibly fine tuned team at work and heard that we were doing this interview, stopped by to see if he could say a few words. Major Haigh will join us as he wanted to be sure that all of us were aware of just how amazing these airmen were as they worked on this child. This is an incredible visit. Our fourth and final visit for today is with a KC-10 refueling tanker flight crew who will tell us what it is like to fly on this converted DC-10 aircraft while fueling other aircraft in mid-air. Joining us from deployment with the 380th AEW (Air Expeditionary Wing) are Capt Michael Dougherty, Capt Omar Rashid, SSgt Douglas Jurgens and SSgt Casanova Geary as they give us an educational and enjoyable visit during some of their down time.

Joining us during our first visit today will be SSgt Johanna Foster who is currently deployed with the 332nd EADS where she is the NCOIC of the area we would know as Public Health. Just as here in the states, this unit is charged with keeping inspections up to date on all food prep areas as well as other locations, watching all reports and strains of illnesses, keeping transient troops up to date on shots and more. As you will hear, this position has allowed SSgt Foster to get to know many of the local people who fill many of the labor positions on the base and she has some wonderful things to say about them. If you ever wondered how much our military members want to share their experiences with you all, you should be clearly convinced that these visits also mean a lot to them – especially after the perseverance of this member as we go through several phone disconnects, but the calls are repeated until we get the full visit completed. Our next visit is with four members who are currently deployed at Manas Air Base with the 376th ELRS/ETDC (Expeditionary Logistics Readiness Squadron/ Expeditionary Theater Distribution Center). Joining us are SSG Karlisa Dawes, SSG Kishima Garcia, SSG Ernesto Villarreal and Airman 1st Class Jonathan P. Beckton. Working in the Expeditionary Theater Distribution Center, these members know how very important their smiles, their words and their caring are as they work with members who are coming out of Afghanistan and are headed home, as well as with those who are heading into Afghanistan, leaving their loved ones behind. I hope this visit will bring comfort to family members in our audience as you will hear how much these men and women care for their brothers and sisters in uniform who pass through their area. We have an article about these folks in our blog for more information. By the way, I would like to add that SrA Beckton will not be home in time to see his first baby born and that SSG Kishima Garcia and her husband are both deployed to different bases and will miss their baby’s first birthday. Our final visit for today will be with Chief MSgt Parsons of the 506th Civil Engineer Squadron. As the Fire Department Chief for the base, CMSgt Parsons and his fire team assist with both fires and medical emergencies as all are trained fire and emergency medical personnel. They attend all emergency situations from aircraft to structures to medical. The Chief will give us an idea of what it is like to be on this duty while on deployment and the types of emergencies they are called on to assist. This is a great visit with yet another military member who fills our description of being a “giver”. As always, we are extremely honored to bring you these visits with our Heroes of Freedom. And, we are very honored to have you, our listeners, join us each week. Without further delay, we will get on with our first interview …

We just completed our six month review and we are proud to announce that from Tuesday, January 6th to Tuesday, June 30th of 2009, United We Roll at Stardust Radio has hosted 89 interviews – or visits as we prefer to call them – with 154 deployed military members and some civilian counterparts. And that is just the first 6 months of this year! That is 154 incredible Americans who are serving so far from home, most in areas that have them in harm’s way, all of whom are working long hours every day on duty and not many days off. Yet they have made time to visit with us and to share stories that have ranged from the USS Ronald Reagan out at sea, to pilots of a variety of aircraft, to the troops on the ground who may face danger during patrols, who provide security both with and without K-9 partners in and around bases & camps, who work daily with local citizens whether it is again for security or in training new army and police members or guiding planes into Baghdad airport. We have talked with engineers who have built schools, community facilities, housing for our troops and so many other projects, not to mention also training local counterparts. And there are the stories that can leave a lump in your throat – I know that many have left me struggling to get the next words out to continue our discussions. We have talked with medevac members who help to bring our wounded home, medical teams who provide care for our wounded and sick Heroes of Freedom while still “in country”, as well as those who worked hard to create a special food to keep infants alive and finding ways to decontaminate water that can be used in hospitals and that local people can afford to use in their homes. We have talked with Chaplains and their assistants who provide such strong support for our men and women in uniform in so many ways, extending far beyond the faith services. We have heard from CSM’s (Command Sergeant Majors), First Sergeants, platoon leaders and commanders who are so dedicated to the men and women with whom they serve. We have talked with family members who are deployed together and a father who returned to active duty so he could be deployed where his son had fallen – and to prove to his young daughter that not everyone who is deployed is lost, that he would return home to her. We have had so many treasured visits, that it is hard to mention one without mentioning all, as each one is so very special and as individual as the person with whom we spoke. Yet among these 154 visits, there has not been one request for anything except our support and our prayers – and that request we hear with almost every visit. Not that we don’t ask what we can do or provide – we do. But these men and women who are standing guard over our freedom and providing us with the opportunity to live our American way of life ask only with for our prayers and support. Now, having just said that we do not hear requests from our troops, I was very surprised to run into one that just came up on July 6th. There is a Special Ops Marine unit that has been on some tough duty in Afghanistan and they are about to come home, but they may have to leave a special 4 legged member behind. Her name is Miranda. She is a dog that adopted this unit and they adopted her – this unit who has not had many comforts of home or very little else. Anyone who has ever had a dog for a companion is well aware of the void that four paws, a cold nose and a wagging tale can bring. Always there and always ready to comfort. If the Marines come home and have to leave Miranda behind, she could face a terrible fate – so they are trying to bring her home where her new family with one of the unit members is waiting for her. You can see more about Miranda’s story at her website – http://bringmirandahome.blogspot.com . The process to get her home is available but it costs money. $3,000.00 to be exact. This may sound like a lot of money for a dog – but Miranda is not just a dog – she has been there for our troops when they had little else. And they are asking for your help – an opportunity to actually respond to a request for help from some of our troops. Please go to their website at http://bringmirandahome.blogspot.com/ where you can click on the Donate button to make a donation with your Paypal account or with a major credit card. By the way, you will notice that any monies received over the amount needed will be used to help bring two other dogs home that are waiting through the shelter that provides the transportation. To all of you who help this unit to bring Miranda home, Thank You! Joining us during our first visit today will be CPL Nathan Painter who is currently deployed with the HHT- 1/150th ARS/HBCT (Hq Brigade Combat Team). CPL Painter was able to step in when another soldier who was scheduled to join us had to attend to duties instead. We really appreciate the way this young soldier was willing to make time to visit with us and talk about his deployment in an area south of Baghdad where he has been on patrols with the Iraqi Army for the past five months. He gives some great information on this area and more. Our next visit is with two members on the staff of the dining facility at Manas Air Base where numbers of diners can fluctuate daily by hundreds due to the numbers of people who transition through this base on their way in and out of Afghanistan. Joining us are SrA Irprime Postrero and A1C Robert Whitefield who will not only talk about how they manage these large numbers of people, but also about how important their role is in providing comfort to these transferring troops and how they enjoy working with the local people of Kyrzgstan, who fill so many of the jobs at the facility. Despite the very long hours, these Airmen still find time to volunteer – stay tuned to be inspired. Our third visit today will be with 1stLT Ryan Davis who is currently deployed with the 386th AEW (Air Expeditionary Wing). Lt Davis serves in the Protocol office where you have to be on your toes 24/7. All VIP’s – Very Important Persons – whether military or civilian have their arrangements handled by this office when they come to this area. Lt Davis and his staff make arrangements for travel, lodging, meals, meetings, tours and more. They have to know everything about each guest as you will hear. Our fourth and final visit for today is with Chase Weiland, who is currently deployed with the OMT 44, 1-111th Infantry Division. Chase has a very unusual story – it is something that happens occasionally, but certainly was not expected. Though he is on his fourth deployment, he had left the service after his third combat tour and had gone back to college to complete his education and go on with his civilian life. Chase’s story will certainly touch your hearts and should again remind us of the many types of sacrifices our military members make as they protect us and our freedom.

United We Roll World Tour Show 070709 Welcome Stardust Listeners and thank you for joining us on United We Roll this Tuesday, July 7, 2009. We hope that you all had a wonderful Fourth of July weekend, with lots of sharing and caring. We hope you all also had some time to remember those who brought us our liberty and freedom from the days of the American Revolution all the way to today, when so many of our men and women are in harm’s way as they continue to protect and fight for freedom. We also had an anniversary or birthday, however you would like to look at it, last Thursday. The Army Air Corps was established on July 2nd of 1926. Now, talking about thanking our military folks and our early fliers is a great way to introduce some information on “Challenge Coins”. Many of our military members are very familiar with these coins as they are highly treasured and they do not go from pocket to pocket very easily. The coins are usually made up with a unit’s logo and are often handed out to recognize a job well done and to boost morale among other reasons. There is some very interesting background and stories on these coins at Wikipedia - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Challenge_coin History says that way back some businesses had these coins, but the most well known stories come from the military back in WWI. One goes back to a story of a pilot who carried his squadron coin in a leather pouch around his neck, which ultimately kept him from being shot as a spy after his plane was shot down behind enemy lines. He had changed into civilian clothes and it was his only way of identifying himself to some local citizens that he was an American flier. The coins were again used heavily during the war in VietNam and have been very popular in recent times where they have been used for awards, rewards and to build morale. President George W. Bush received a challenge coin from a Marine combat patrol unit during his short but unexpected visit to Al-Asad Airbase in Anbar province, Iraq, Monday, Sept. 3, 2007 The coins have been used to challenge each other for identity, to see who was going to pay the tab at the bar and for other such challenges. But throughout all, the coins have been very special and seldom does one part with their coin, unless security may require that they not carry the coin with them. Wikipedia and other sources have these stories and more in great detail and they make for some very interesting reading. There are also some sites where you can see photos of unit coins with their beautiful designs and colors. In the tradition of the Challenge Coin, the founders of the Grateful American Coin Organization have designed and manufactured one type of coin - a beautiful Challenge Coin for us everyday Americans to be able to give to our Heroes of Freedom to recognize and thank them for their service. These make a unique, special gift and I can assure you that presenting one - or, as the term goes, “coining” someone – will be a moment that you will never forget. By the way, no one receives any profit from these coins, either! As you will hear in the visit, all receipts above the cost for the coins goes to Veteran groups who provide assistance to wounded Vets or families. We build some very rewarding relationships here at Stardust Radio as we work to bring you all these great visits with our deployed members. And now the time has come for some of our Public Affairs contacts who have brought us many wonderful guests to prepare for the trip home – if they have not left already - as they are reaching the end of their deployments. We wish to salute and thank MSgt Mikal Canfield, MSgt Russell Petcoff, Capt Jennifer Pearson, Capt Linda North, and Maj Bill Pierce, in addition to so many other wonderful PA members and, of course, our guests who give of their time to be with us. The miles between home and Iraq, Afghanistan and Kyrzgstan have been shortened as we get to know more and more about the men and women who serve our country and the jobs they do while on deployment, their military experiences and their beliefs as to why they do what they do and what it means to them. In fact, joining us during our first visit today will be members of the Public Affairs Team from Manas Air Base in Kyrzgstan. We have had the extreme honor to host an interview almost every week – and sometimes more than once per week - with a variety of members from this base for well over a year. For the past several months, our main contact has been TSgt Phyllis Hanson and she is joining us today along with team members MSgt Charles Wade, TSgt Liz Weinberg, and TSgt Harry Kibbe. Maj Pickart has already headed home. The time has come for the rest of these members to pack their bags and head home as their deployments are over and replacements are arriving to cover these duties for the next several months. I can not begin to describe just how much of an honor it is to work with all of our PA contacts. Though we may never meet in person, we are able to develop a relationship and respect that will endure forever. These people are not only Heroes of Freedom, but they are also heroes for the news that they make available about the men and women who serve our country from home and around the globe. Fortunately, one of the new team members is also joining us today – SSG Owolabi – and we look forward to working with him over the upcoming months It is very appropriate that our next visit is one of the founders of the Grateful American Coin Organization. Deborah Benson and her young family have developed the Grateful American Coin, which is based on the military challenge coins, as I mentioned earlier. And I have to tell you these are not only gorgeous, but an incredible value in more ways than one. I have some in my purse now and plan to never be without one, so I am always able to “Coin a Hero”. Our third visit today will be with four members from the 332nd AEW (Air Expeditionary Wing). Joining us are SrA Miguel Torres and SSgt Alex Stewart of the EMXS Unit and also SSgt Rachael Schultz and TSgt Ryan Alfke of the EAMXS Unit. Now, for us non military types, EAMXS members are the aircraft maintainers who work on the aircraft in a variety of ways to keep them ready to fly. The members of the EMXS unit make sure that all the equipment is in working order that the EAMXS folks need to do their job. You will understand how this works much better after our visit.

Joining Capt Kornitzer in this visit with us is A1C Steven Felger, who is a Boom Operator on the KC-135. Our third visit today brings us two Air Force officers from Joint Base Balad whose missions also take them out into the surrounding areas. Capt Matthew Albers of the 732nd ECES Construction Team 6 is on his third deployment to Iraq among others and has been busy building up Army outposts outside of the cities to allow for the Draw Down, in addition to other construction assignments. Capt Rachel Ramos, who is deployed with the 732nd ELRS (Expeditionary Logistics Readiness Squadron)/Det1/TF586, travels around the area with a team to various installations where they identify excess materials that can be sent on to other locations where they will be used. As you will hear, this is for more than one reason. Both of these Captains have had several deployments and some unforgettable experiences that they will share with us today. Our final guest for this afternoon is EMT SrA Alex Murray, who is currently deployed to a base in Afghanistan with the 451st Expeditionary Aeromedical Evacuation Flight. With his thorough training, experience and dedication to those whom he is helping and the experienced team with which he flies, it is understandable that reports show that wounded troops survive injuries today which may not have been survivable in the not too distant past. This is a wonderful visit and we appreciate the time that SrA Murray was able to spend with us.

We truly appreciate the opportunity to have both SPC Yagel and his family members during this special visit.

United We Roll World Tour .. interviews with America's deployed Heroes... Joining us today first will be SSgt Jose Berrios. Sgt Berrios, a mental health technician, volunteered to be a force protection escort for this deployment. He escorts local nationals and third country nationals on base to do contracted work - this ensures other service members assigned there are secure, while at the same time allowing local contractors to safely complete their jobs. Next up we will be visiting with Lt Col Tom Knolmayer, who will not only tell us about his military mission, but also about a wonderful mission for the children that he and his family have started – that of bringing shoes for those little feet. Col Knolmayer is deployed to the Bagram at the Craig Theater Hospital. He operates on both military and civilians. What is one of his hobbies – you would never guess – it is running the Iditerod race with his own team of sled dogs. Our third visit today will be with Col Scott Jones – Col Jones, a Pediatrician, is a also deployed to the Bagram Craig Theater Hospital. In fact, it is believed he is the only Air Force pediatrician deployed in Afghanistan at the time. Among the stories he will share with us today is one of a little girl by the name of Nazia. Our final visit for today will be with MSgt Jimmy Stevens, who is involved with PERSCO – the accountability of personnel. Providing Total Force Accountability is important to the mission. It gives deployed commanders the ability to know where people are at any given time. During the Vietnam War, so many problems were blamed on the inability to account for where a member was in the Asian theater. Today's Air Force relies on Total Force Accountability to ensure that our leadership knows where members are and how to get in touch with our military members for a variety of reasons. And, with the number of people on the move, this is no simple task. We hope you all can stay with us for our full two hours today as you will not want to miss any of these great visits from our Heroes of Freedom.

We have several visits from deployed members today, starting off with a few who are hard at work in Afghanistan. We will be talking with Capt Gary Moore, who is a Civil Engineer with a PRT – Provincial Reconstruction Team, with Capt Hughes who works in great detail with the governments and the village representatives who have been brought on board with the PRT projects and with Specialist Jonathon Lehr who has the most demanding job of keeping all of the PRT members safe – he must watch over the PRT members and protect them as they travel to make the project arrangements and as they work on the projects themselves . Next, we will move on to an interview with two members of the 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division who are on a special security detail to protect the BCT Commanders as they travel from one location to another. We will be speaking with SSGT Andrew Duaime and Spclst Ryan De Leon who will tell us about their experiences as they cover a lot of territory in their very long duty shifts.
